Patty Tanji lives in Eagan, Minnesota, a suburb of St. Paul/Minneapolis where she lives a simple life surrounded by nature. An active volunteer in many regards she started sharing the principles at a homeless shelter for families when she realized the stress the residents seemed to be experiencing one day. Then, in the middle of a yoga set, a thought came to her to share the principles at an addiction treatment center. As if by magic, the opportunity presented itself. How does that work? She now shares the principles at an addiction treatment center focused on residents from the LGBTQ community.
Patty is the president of the Pay Equity Coalition of Minnesota where she advocates for gender pay equity laws and educates the public on all matters affecting the economic status of women. Understanding how Mind, Consciousness and Thought play out in our lives has huge implications for women and the size of their paychecks both from a public policy and from an individual standpoint. She looks forward to playing with these ideas in the next legislative session. Patty also spends a great deal of her time volunteering in her spiritual center as board member, youth educator, dish washer, weed puller, website developer, hand holder, and change maker.
Patty has a Bachelor of Science in Business degree and a Masters degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Minnesota. She is originally from Waterloo, Ontario and is now a naturalized American citizen. Home is with her husband Todd, the beagle dog Pepper, and Jimi the mean cat. She has two grown daughters who don’t come around to see her nearly enough.
